Kids go back to school this week

It’s back to reality for students this week. School began today in a number of districts, mostly everyone else opens tomorrow.

Pittsford, Rush Henrietta, Brockport, Brighton and Penfield were among the districts that opened on Tuesday.

News10NBC was at the bus stop with parents this morning in Brighton. They were excited to see their kids head back to the classroom.

Joe Starling and Dawn Starling are two very excited parents.

Joe Starling says, “It’s been pretty easy cause we prepped everything last night before-hand, so the two older ones they got off around seven this morning, even though school’s not until seven forty five, and Jeryca should be catching the bus real soon.”

Dawn Starling says, “She’s probably pretty excited… excited and nervous. New teacher, new school, new classes, new friends... but it's exciting. I'm excited for her.”

Tomorrow is the first day of school for Rochester city schools, Fairport and most others in Monroe County. Greece schools do not open until Thursday.
