The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says that a vehicle passing a mail truck caused another driver to lose control of his vehicle and cause a collision.
Deputies say that vehicles were passing a mail truck parked on Outlet Road in Manchester. At one point a driver traveling westbound came around a corner and was forced to brake suddenly when another vehicle going around the mail truck crossed into their lane.
The westbound driver lost control of his vehicle, crossed into the other lane and collided head-on with and elderly couple driving eastbound in a third vehicle. The couple was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital.
A passenger in the westbound vehicle was taken to Clifton Springs Hospital with lower leg pain.
Police say that neither the mail truck nor the driver that had passed the truck remained at the scene.
