nullNews10NBC is learning news details about the arrest of a substitute teach from Fairport.

State Police say 40-year-old Glenn Manzek taught in six different districts: Victor, Pittsford, Fairport, Gates, East Irondequoit and Brighton.

Manzek was arrested Wednesday on two counts of third-degree rape, eight counts of endangering the welfare of a child and six counts of criminal sex act.
Police say the charges stem from incidents involving the same 15-year-old female victim. At this time, police will not say how Manzek and the victim are connected but do say it's related to his substitute teaching.

According to investigators, three of the eight charges of child endangerment charges stem from Manzek leaving his three children - all under the age of four - home alone for 10 minutes while he went to pick up the victim.

Manzek is certified to teach young children up until sixth grade and high school biology. He has been a substitute teacher since 2006.

Dr. Kevin McGowan, Superintendent of Brighton Central District, issued a statement Thursday saying, "We have been informed that an individual who has been charged with a crime was an infrequent substitute employee in our district.  This individual substituted sporadically in paraprofessional positions between December 2008 and September 2010.  His temporary employment in our schools was quite limited and he has not been working in our district since September 28, 2010. It is our understanding that no Brighton students were involved in this situation nor have there been any reports of criminal activity involving our students during the time this individual worked in the district. We will work closely with law enforcement personnel and extend our heartfelt sympathy to any and all victims."

Manzek will reappear in Perinton Court on September 10. He is currently out on bail.
