One of New York's famous parks is set to undergo massive improvements this year.
The state has launched a $3-million project to improve Niagara Falls State Park.
On Tuesday, workers began blocking off public access to two of the scenic viewing areas on the American side of the falls.
The Three Sisters Islands and Luna Island are closed to the public from now until next spring and each of the two venues will get enhanced landscaping, overlook improvements, walkways and railings among other renovations.
The park is 127 years old and attracts eight-million visitors a year.
