Bay Bridge re-opened

nullThe eastbound lanes on Route 104 on the Irondequoit Bay Bridge in the towns of Irondequoit and Webster re-opened to traffic Sunday morning.

Department of Transportation officials say the lanes were made accessible again just before 9 a.m. and the detour has been lifted.

The eastbound lanes were shut down to traffic Friday night and remained closed over the weekend. The closure was the same direction as when the eastbound lanes were closed in August.

Officials say all work was completed safely and successfully. The closure was part of a $14 million rehabilitation of the bridge that started last year. The project is slated to be complete by November.
