College at Brockport receives $2-million anonymous gift

The college at Brockport has received a $2-million anonymous donation – the largest gift in the school’s 177-year history.
“All of us at The College at Brockport are elated by the generosity of this wonderful gift,” says Brockport President John R. Halstead, PhD. “It will be used to bolster the primary mission of the College—promoting student success. We are incredibly thankful to this wonderful couple who has chosen to invest in our students.”
The school says the gift was made by a Brockport Professor Emeritus and his wife who felt compelled to give back to a place where they say they spent their happiest years.
The gift will be used to support scholarships for Brockport students.
