A lot of people are talking about the presidential election in November, but many in our area will be heading to the polls on Thursday for the New York State Primary. But don't forget you can only head to the polls if there is a primary for your party and district.

News10NBC will be following a number of key races throughout Thursday. In the 133rd District we will be tracking the contest between republicans Bill Nojay and Richard Burke. In the 137th District, it's a hotly contested democratic race between incumbent David Gantt and challengers Jose Cruz and John Lightfoot.

In Livingston County, News10NBC will also be following the district attorney race between republicans Steve Sessler and Eric Schiener.

Polls in Monroe County are open on Thursday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
