Have you heard about Greentopia? It's a festival celebrating "green" energy and sustainability.
Lieutenant Governor Bob Duffy was part of the celebration Friday morning. He was the keynote speaker at the festival's "Innovation Conference" featuring private businesses and universities that work on sustainable technology.
Lieutenant Governor Duffy says New York is leading the nation when it comes to this technology and Rochester is an important contributor.
Lieutenant Governor Duffy said, "What we are blessed with around the state, what I get to see is the brain power and talent across the state is phenomenal. And right here in Rochester, you have RIT, U of R, you have a great university community here that just drives that, it drives innovation. This is the future. It's investing and doing things right now that is going to save energy, save the environment for the future, and create a whole new economy."
Greentopia continues through Sunday. For a list of events, click here.
