A big day for SUNY Brockport. On Friday, they cut the ribbon on their new $44 million dollar project.
The Special Events Recreation Center (or SERC) is a multi-use facility for sporting events, conferences, and ceremonies. It will also have a dining and retail space.
The fitness center will have space for an indoor throwing cage for shot put.
The facility will also house space for kinesiology, sport studies, and physical education programs. The college began planning for the center over five years ago, and construction began in 2010.
