The Buffalo Bills would probably like to pick up where they left off at the start of last year. The team racked up 30 plus points in an exciting home opener that had many believing the Bills were a contender. Instead, the team is looking to avenge last week’s humiliating loss to the Jets.
Sunday is all about regrouping for the Buffalo Bills. If last week’s 20 point loss wasn’t enough, Buffalo has lost nine of its last ten games so getting a win this Sunday is a must.
The Bills lost experience and versatility with the running back Fred Jackson and wide receiver David Nelson out with injuries. The advantage this weekend, the Bills are home and they’ve won four of the last five meetings with the Chiefs.
Protecting the ball by limiting turnovers and generating a pass rush that puts pressure on the Chief’s Matt Castle will be key areas of improvement on Sunday. The Bills insist that it may only be week two, this is a must win.
Kyle Williams said, “Nine of ten you’re talking about spilling over to the next. I think each season is new in its own right. Now we are 0-1, played like garbage, facing it for what it is and you move on. I don’t carry any weight from last year. This is a new team, different guys, so we have a chance to go out play better and win a football game. It is simple as that.”
Stevie Johnson, Bills wide receiver said, “In reality, every game is big. We would have liked to beat the Jets. It’s the NFL and we want to win in reality every game is big, so we have to come out this Sunday and put up a W.”
No surprises on the injury report. The only two that made the list wide receiver David Nelson and running back Fred Jackson, both are out for Sunday’s game. The Bills are hosting the Chiefs on Sunday at the Ralph Wilson Stadium. Kickoff is one o’clock.
