Rochester Firefighters have identified the woman killed in a house fire on Sunday morning.
The fire broke out just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning on Pierpont Street.
Firefighters say 38-year-old Chandra Majors died in the fire. News10NBC did speak to several relatives who says Majors was a mother of seven. They say she loved her children and she was always happy.
Her family members say that she was loved by everyone who knew her. On Sunday, many stopped by the house to offer their condolences. By sunset on Sunday, there were dozens of candles and several stuffed animals lining the stoop of the house.
Firefighters were called to the home shortly before 2.30 a.m. Sunday morning. They were battling the fire for quite some time before realizing Majors's body on the second floor in an upstairs bedroom. Fire officials say there was no one else at home at the time.
There is still no word on what may have caused the fire. Officials are still investigating the cause. An ATF agent was also on scene helping with the investigation on Sunday. Family members said they do suspect foul play. Officials say they should have more information within the next few days.
