If you have young children, putting them in car seats and booster seats is part of your daily routine. This week... police want to make sure your child is strapped in safely.

National Child Passenger Safety Week kicks off on Monday. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood will release a new survey on car seat use. In the Rochester area, State Police are setting up checkpoints to see if your child is in the right seat and if you are wearing your seatbelt.

New York State Law requires children to use a car or booster seat until they're eight years old.
