nullTwo Rochester men were arrested after a short chase Monday afternoon.

Police received a call from Kmart store employees saying two men in their 30’s were trying to take a shopping cart full of electronics from the store on West Ridge Road in Greece.

A description of the suspects went out to police. An officer spotted the suspects’ car at West Ridge Road and Long Pond Road and conducted a traffic stop at West Ridge Road and Stone Road. When the officer approached the suspects’ car, the suspects then sped off.

Police say they lost sight of the car after it entered into Irondequoit, but a short time later, they found the car crashed on the exit ramp from Route 104 East at Hudson Avenue. The suspects’ car had flipped over and crashed into a couple of utility poles.

Wendyll Jones, 37 of Rochester, and 42-year-old Ronald Warnick are both under arrest following the chase.

Warnick was charged with petit larceny. Jones was charged with petit larceny, unlawfully fleeing police, reckless endangerment, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.

Both men were also wanted for outstanding criminal warrants. Bail was set for both men at $5,000 cash or bond.
