Rochester man charged with starting fire that injures three firefighters

nullA Rochester man has been arrested and charged with setting a fire at a home where three firefighters suffered injuries.

David M. Borreggine, 27, of Rochester, is charged with arson and three counts of assault. 

Rochester Firefighters say he started the fire with an ignitable liquid on McNaughton Street on September 14. Three firefighters were hurt. One of them fell through the first floor into the basement, where the other two firefighters were standing. The three were taken to the hospital. All three remain off duty and are still recovering from their injuries.

The owner of the home was not home at the time of the fire.

Borreggine was arraigned in City Court and is currently in the Monroe County Jail.
