A multi-million dollar renovation project is officially complete at McQuaid Jesuit High School.
News10NBC got a sneak peek inside the school Wednesday morning. The school had to make room for its new 6th graders, which started this school year.
The renovations include new classrooms for students and updated lunch room, which hadn’t been updated since the school was built in 1954.
The cafeteria now features a salad bar, a grill station, a vegetarian bar and a sauté station.
Ryan Burton, McQuaid Ninth Grader, said, “There’s a huge difference in terms of how healthy it is. Like last year, we had good food, but you could tell it wasn’t as healthy, like now we’re using whole wheat in the pizza and stuff like that.”
The gourmet brick pizza oven is definitely a favorite. McQuaid is also focusing on buying local food and drinks for its student.
