An overturned scrap metal truck on Route 490 caused major backups Wednesday evening.
The truck flipped near the Clinton Avenue exit on 490 eastbound around 4 p.m. Wednesday. At one point, it was blocking all four lanes of traffic.
Traffic onto 490 was blocked while crews worked to clean up the spilled load and upright the overturned truck, which then caused backups on city roads as well.
Crews were finally able to finish the clean-up efforts and tow the truck away around 7 p.m.
Officials say it appears speed may have caused the rollover.
The driver of the truck was taken to Strong Hospital with internal injuries. A passenger in the truck was also treated for injuries. There's still no word of the extent of their injuries.
