A Waterloo man is facing charges after police say he crashed his vehicle while leading officers on a chase.
Seneca Falls Police say they tried to pull over 23-year-old Anthony Silbernagel on Route 89 in Seneca Falls after they received a complaint from another driver. Officers say Silbernagel failed to pull over and led officers on a chase through several roadways at speeds that reached more than 100 miles per hour.
Officers finally where able to take Silbernagel into custody after he lost control of his vehicle on Route 89 and hit a sign and fence post. During the crash, a female passenger in Silbernagel's vehicle was hurt, suffering injuries to her face and was transferred to Strong Memorial Hospital.
Police say Silbernagel was arrested on charges of unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated, felony unlicensed operation, refusal to take a breath test, reckless driving, seven speed violations, five stop sign violations and other traffic violations.
