A three year old girl is still recovering after a pit bull attack earlier this month. However, doctors say she is doing much better than expected. Still her parents say the most amazing part of this ordeal is the amount of support they are getting from people from all over the world.
Little Jayden Forrester was at the doctor’s office Thursday morning and her parents couldn’t be happier with the news. Their daughter is healing very well. It was a horrible accident that affected the entire community and it looks like it struck a chord with thousands of other people as well.
Jayden has had multiple blood transfusions and a seven hour surgery to fix her little face. All of her stitches have come out except for two. Her parents say her life is pretty much back to normal.
Her accident inspired a family member to set up an Indiegogo account. At first, $12,000 was raised and within 24 hours after her story aired, it doubled. Thousands of people have contributed and her parents couldn’t be more grateful.
Justin Forrester and Melissa Moore, Jayden’s parents, said, “I mean the amount of support has been tremendous. I mean people from all over the world, from Australia, from Ireland like just from everywhere. We can't even believe that we people we haven't even met or will never meet can come together and support Jayden like this. It's just great, we're so thankful.”
Doctors say Jayden has a very long road ahead of her including several cosmetic surgeries to fix her face. The indiegogo account will be open for the next 23 days.
