Alpina Food Plant opens in Batavia Monday

A new yogurt plant in Batavia opened its doors Monday.

The $15-million facility is located on State Route 5 in Batavia near the County fairgrounds.

The Alpina Foods plant already employs 30 new employees, and expects to hire at least 20 additional team members in the coming months.

This is Alpina's first yogurt plant in the U.S.
