Baby Safe Sleep Coalition announces new effort aimed at decreasing number of infant deaths

Monday morning, the Baby Safe Sleep Coalition announced a new effort aimed at decreasing the number of infant deaths in unsafe sleep environments.
According to the Coalition, 54 babies died in unsafe sleep environments between January 2007 and December 2011.
The Monroe County Department of Public Health states that unsafe sleep is the leading preventable cause of death in healthy infants under the age of one.
