Both sides involved in the race for the 25th Congressional seat are calling out the other’s recent campaign ads.

Republican candidate Maggie Brooks filed a complaint against her opponent, incumbent Louise Slaughter with the Fair Elections Committee.  Brooks claims the ad includes of number of lies.

But Democrats say Brooks’s ads are also misleading.

Both Brooks and Slaughter signed the 2012 Fair Election Pledge.

Democratic Assemblyman Joe Morelle said, “It's hard to imagine any other comment that is as out of step with reality than what the county executive has said.”

Brooks said, “Several of the issues that are cited as corruption did not occur during my tenure as county executive. That’s on its own makes this ad factual incorrect.”

The hearing on Slaughter’s ad will be held in the next few days.
