News10NBC has learned who the Democrat is that will run in the general election for the New York State 133rd Assembly race.

On Tuesday, Monroe County Democratic Party Chairman Joe Morelle endorsed Randy Weaver. Weaver is a Hornell resident and is a Steuben County Legislator.

Weaver is looking to take his experience to Albany to fix problems he sees in his district.

Weaver said, “But the needs in the state are all the same. We need to work on creating more jobs and getting people back to work. We need to reduce the state mandate, so each municipality can have a better say in how they want to spend their monies. And that's one of the things I’m looking forward to working on as a member of the state assembly.”

Weaver will take on Republican Bill Nojay in the general election.
