Eleven city schools to receive up to $15,000 grants to support increased physical activity

It’s about to get a little more physical in the Rochester City School District., physical activity that is.

Mayor Tom Richards was joined by Superintendent Bolgen Vargas and President of the Greater Rochester Health Foundation John Urban to announce that 11 city schools will receive up to $15,000 grants to support increased physical activity.

Urban said, “There is no question about the connection between physical activity and academic performance is an important connection. And we are thrilled that we have partners like the school district who recognize that connection and step forward.”

Schools can use the money for staff training and equipment.
