Murder charges reinstated for Brighton man accused of killing his former roommate

An appellate court reinstated murder charges against a Brighton man Friday.
The court reversed Monroe County Court Judge Doug Randall’s decision to reduce an indictment against Maxwell Wyant from murder to assault. But the appellate court ruled that the district attorney’s office presented enough evidence to support the murder charge.
Wyant is accused of killing his former roommate Christopher Schoen in February.
