This murder has obviously shocked students and staff at the College at Brockport.

Right now, News10NBC still does not know much about the victim. But the campus is stunned and saddened.

A student ran to the dorm when she heard the news. Students who live in McLean Hall say this is a freshman dorm. They say College Officials held a meeting on Saturday morning to tell them about the events last night.

News10NBC saw some parents picking up their kids from the dorm. They told News10NBC off-camera, that they know this was an isolated incident and campus is safe, but it is just too hard to stay here right now.

Here is what one student, who lives in the dorm, had to say.

Andre Sanders says, "It's crazy that waking up to... hearing somebody got killed in the dorm hall where you live... it's a lot of confusion." He continues, "It's sad cause parents are just now sending their kids out into the world and then you know, something like this happens. You know somebody that people in our door room knew... was getting to know."

School Officials say they have numerous counseling opportunities set up throughout campus and will continue to have them while students need them.

There is also a parent hotline so parents can stay informed.
