9,000 Rochester-area residents came out Sunday morning in support of breast cancer awareness, participating in the 2012 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in downtown Rochester.
Officials say about $805,000 was raised from Sunday's walk at Frontier Field in the fight to end breast cancer.
About 500 also people participated in a walk in the village of Waterloo, raising an additional $42,000.
Organizers say the money raised helps fund research efforts to find, prevent, treat and cure breast cancer, as well as help the American Cancer Society ensure access to mammograms for women who need them.
