Sheriff’s Deputies have identified the man killed in a two-car crash Monday. It happened at the intersection of Route 260 and Brick Schoolhouse Road in Hamlin.
According to deputies, 24-year-old Amber Reeves of Hamlin and her passenger, 25-year-old Luis Alayon of Hamlin, were southbound on Route 260 (Sweden Walker Road) when a truck driven by 50-year-old Robert Mastowski of Hilton pulled out in front of them. Reeves’ vehicle hit Mastowski’s truck and the collision caused both vehicles to roll over. The impact ejected Alayon from the car.
The truck came to a rest on top of Alayon, pinning him underneath. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Both Mastowski and Reeves were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital. Reeves has since been released.
Deputies say no tickets have been issued at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
