A local teacher got quite the surprise on Tuesday morning.
Kim Weeks, a 4th grade teacher from Rush-Henrietta's Fyle Elementary School was given $1,000 worth of school supplies.
It was all part of Office Max's "A Day Made Better" advocacy program. The program is aimed at getting rid of the burden of teacher funded classrooms.
Weeks says this is a much needed boost for her classroom.
Weeks says, "Well my students are going to have some great supplies... and our room is going to look nice and bright, and brand new supplies, and things I haven't even uncovered yet."
Weeks went on to say how great of a surprise it was to be nominated for this by her fellow colleagues.
