Pittsford schools will be getting a new superintendent.
Mary Alice Price will retire in January 2013.
Price has been superintendent since 2002. In 2009, she was named superintendent of the year in New York state.
Board of Education President Kim McCluski said, “Our entire community is truly grateful for the dedication and leadership of Superintendent Price over the past 10 years. She is leaving us well-prepared for the future with a dynamic strategic plan, fiscal strength, a collaborative learning culture and a record strong student performance.”
Pittsford schools are routinely honored as among the best in the nation.
Succeeding Mary Alice Price will be Michael Pero who had been Assistant Superintendent.
Pero has been in the district since 1994 as a teacher and administrator. He will take over next February.
