A former Buffalo Bills star will be visiting a city school Wednesday morning to encourage students to exercise and eat healthy.

Thurman Thomas will interact with students during an assembly at Theodore Roosevelt School #43. The assembly will focus on the roles of good nutrition and exercise in a healthy lifestyle. A local chef will also be on hand to show the children healthy breakfast recipes.

The appearance is part of the NFL and Dairy Association's “Fuel up to Play” program that is designed to fight and prevent obesity. Thomas hopes to get students excited proper nutrition and the school's new “Breakfast in the Classroom” program that has just launched this fall.

The assembly will start around 10 a.m. and is expected to last an hour.
