Former Bills star running back Thurman Thomas joined students at Roosevelt School #43 Wednesday to highlight the importance of healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle.
It was part of an assembly put on by the NFL and the Dairy Association's "Fuel Up To Play" obesity prevention program.
Thomas stressed the importance of eating a healthy breakfast to start a child's day off right and give them the energy they need.
"As a young kid, you know you're not really thinking of that you're thinking how you're going to get to school. And you realize right before lunch you're really tired, you don't want to pay attention as much, you're not at focused. If you do eat that mean early in the morning, then you'll be focused all the way until lunch time comes," Thomas says.
Wednesday's event also featured a local chef who shared some healthy breakfast recipes.
