The man accused of beating his girlfriend to death in her College at Brockport dorm room was supposed to appear in court, but that hearing was canceled.

Clayton Whittemore has been charged with second degree murder for the death of 18-year-old Alexandra Kogut.

He was suppose to appear at a hearing in Sweden Town Court Thursday afternoon, but the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office say it has been canceled.

Whittemore, who is being held in the Monroe County Jail, was indicted by a grand jury on at least one felony charge, so the case will most likely be heard in a higher court.

Kogut’s funeral is at 12 p.m. in her hometown of New Hartford near Utica.
