Ogden man ticketed after one-car crash in Chili

A 23-year-old Ogden man has been issued several tickets following a one-car crash early Thursday morning in Chili.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputies say Brian Briggs was northbound on Gateway Road when his vehicle left the road, hit two mailboxes and a boulder. Investigators say the impact of hitting the boulder causing the vehicle to flip over.

A neighbor who heard the crash told deputies he saw a man running from the area. Deputies were able to later locate Briggs at a relative’s house in Henrietta.

Briggs was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. He was ticketed for leaving the scene of an accident and numerous other traffic violations. Briggs was not ticketed for driving while intoxicated.
