A 49-year-old Macedon woman has died following a two-vehicle crash in Penfield. It happened around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputes say 65-year-old James Maher of Macedon was attempting to turn left on to Watson Road from Route 441 when he was hit by an eastbound vehicle driven by 25-year-old Michael Tyson of Macedon.

Maher’s wife, 49-year-old Ellen, his daughter, 34-year-old Erica Silverman of New York City, and his two-year-old grandson were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Ellen was sitting in the backseat and was ejected when the vehicles collided. News10NBC is told she succumbed to her injuries Friday.

Deputies say witnesses told investigators that Tyson was traveling at a very high rate of speed.

No tickets have been issued at this time but the investigation is ongoing.
