Livingston County Republican Committee nominates Schiener

A decision has been reached in the Livingston County DA's primary race.

Republican leaders held a vote between the two candidates.

There had been a tie between Steven Sessler and Eric Schiener for the last few weeks. The race has been to court twice.

On Thursday, a decision was finally reached.

The Livingston County Republican Committee has selected Eric Schiener in a vote of 88 to 12.

Eric Schiener says, "This has been a huge learning experience all summer long. The last three weeks have been unbelievably difficult."

Steven Sessler says, "Even though there are 1881 votes for me and 1881 votes for my opponent at this point in time the representation of the republicans in Livingston County was not quite reflected by the vote here in the committee."

Schiener will go on to face Democrat Incumbent Greg McCaffrey next month.
