A show of support for city residents, as the mayor and other volunteers showed up Friday morning to help build a home for Habitat for Humanity.

The house is located on Whitney Street just off of Jay Street. More than 30 city volunteers – along with other groups – were ready and willing to help a family in need.

City Inspector Mike Ball said, “You get to meet different groups of people too. It's not just the city. There are some other folks, I think from GE and other places, so you get to meet different folks and it's very satisfying. “

This was the sixth annual Habitat Appreciation day for the city.
