More than 1,000 people hit the pavement on Saturday for the 2012 George Eastman House Photo Finish 5K.

The walk kicked off at the George Eastman House on Saturday morning.

Unlike other events, walkers could sign up on behalf of their charity of choice.

This is the second year of the event and the race has raised a total of half a million dollars.

Dresden Engle is the Public Relations Manager at the George Eastman House.

She says, "More than 50 charitable causes were supported today by this race. It's crowd sourcing, it's a way to support Rochester. It is also George Eastman's legacy continued. He wanted Rochester to be the best place to live and work his philanthropic spirit is huge here today, and that's what Rochester is known for and we came out and did it again."

News10NBC's Don Hudson emceed Saturday morning's event.
