Police: Suspect in Veterans Place shooting charged with murder

Police say a suspect has been charged with murder in connection with a shooting on the city's south side that left a Rochester man dead on Saturday.

Police say Vinh dac Phan shot and killed his nephew, 32-year-old Viet Ho Tai inside of a car just after 6:30pm on Veterans Place near the intersection of Alexander Street and South Avenue.

The 54-year-old turned himself into the police headquarters desk at 9:00p.m. that night.

Police say the murder is a result of a family dispute.
