One person rescued from early morning fire in Greece

One person was rescued from an early morning house fire in the town of Greece on Sunday.

Firefighters responded to the home on Wood Rd. just after 4:30 a.m. They arrived to find a kitchen fire with a person trapped inside. The fire was under control within 20 minutes and firefighters were able to rescue the resident from a first-floor bedroom. That person was treated by firefighters and paramedics at the scene. Red Cross officials are providing further assistance to the residents.

Firefighters say the kitchen sustained extensive damage. Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
