Brooks campaign files complaint against Slaughter mail ads

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks' congressional campaign is charging Congresswoman Louise Slaughter with another false attack in the race for the 25th Congressional District seat.

Brooks has filed a second complaint with the Fair Election Practices Committee, this time over a direct mail ad that cites what it calls "scandals" within the County Executive's administration.

A recent T.V. ad containing similar language was determined to be a violation. Brooks calls the direct mail ad "false and deceptive".

The Slaughter campaign responded Monday night, saying their ad is no longer on the air and that, "the Brooks campaign now revolves around her argument that she's only wasted tens of millions of dollars on corruption, not hundreds of millions as our ad contends."
