Local Marine returns home from Afghanistan Wednesday morning

She’s 21 years old and a Marine Corporal and is now home from Afghanistan. The Gates Chili grad is now back home in Rochester.

The King family could not contain their joy. Corporal Brittany King has been serving in Afghanistan since January.

Corporal King was in tears when she saw all the support. She is the youngest of three girls. Her father says she always wanted to serve her country. And she did, first in Japan after the Tsunami and then in Afghanistan. King works with chemical weapons.

Her parents are overjoyed to have her back on American soil.

King will be home for three weeks then its back to Camp Pendleton in California
