Brizard to resign from Chicago Public Schools

Former Rochester City School District Superintendent Jean-Claude Brizard will resign from his post as leader of the Chicago Public Schools on Friday.
Brizard gave his resignation to Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Monday and has informed the president of the Chicago Teachers' Union as well.
Brizard moved to Chicago to lead the school district there in April of 2011 after three years as superintendent in Rochester.
Chicago Public Schools Chief Education Advisor Barbara Byrd Bennett will replace Brizard for the time being.
