Eastridge football goes for perfect season

Eastridge football is a perfect 6-0 and going for a perfect regular season Friday night against Irondequoit. That’s just the first step in a mission the Lancers started last year.
Eastridge has been in this position before, they know what it is like to be sitting atop the division, but this time around, the Lancers aren’t resting on their accomplishments.
Eastridge football has seen the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Last season, the Lancers went 7-0, winning the Monroe Country Division Title. This season, they are 6-0 and captured the division title last week in their win over then undefeated victor.
But that's where Eastridge wants the similarities to end. Last year, they were bounced in the first round of sectionals by McQuaid.
Alec Mortillaro, Eastridge Quarterback, said, "No matter how well you do in the regular season if you cant win a game in the playoffs your game is a waste.”
Alex Officer, Eastridge OL/DL, said, "It was the drive that made us became better as a team."
Chad Green, Eastridge Football Coach, said, "They don't want to go through that again they don't take anything for granted.”
The Lancers carry that loss with them as a reminder that a perfect season can end in a flash
With one more regular season game Fright night against winless Irondequoit, Eastridge can make it back to back perfect regular seasons. But it's what lies ahead after Friday night that can turn last years early exit, into a thing of the past.
