A Rochester man has been indicted on charges of murder for the death of an 18-year-old during an attempted robbery on Flower Street in September.
Domenick Lee Johnson, 21, of Rochester, is charged with one count of murder, two counts of robbery and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
Police say Malcolm McFarland, 18, who was not involved in the robbery, was shot and killed when he responded with others to the sound of gunfire. Police say Johnson and McFarland were acquaintances.
Johnson is being held in the Monroe County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. He will next appear in court for arraignment on murder charges later this week. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years to life in prison.
