News10NBC has new information on Melissa Jones, the Canandaigua mother accused of faking breast cancer and accepting thousands of dollars in donations.
Friday was supposed to be the deadline for Jones to either accept or deny a plea deal.
News10NBC was in Ontario County Court Friday and that's when we learned the hearing for Jones has been adjourned until next Tuesday. If she pleads guilty, she could serve one to five years in prison.
If she's convicted at trial, she faces 10 to 20 years.
Earlier this month Jones released a statement saying she believed she had cancer and now realizes the diagnosis was wrong.
Her trial is set for January.
