If you took a drive through the Village of Pittsford on Sunday, you may have noticed red ribbons tied on all the light posts.
Students from Pittsford Sutherland High School and Pittsford Mendon High School put the ribbons up on Sunday for Red Ribbon Week. The students are all part of the Interact Club and the Community Service Club.
Red Ribbon Week is all about advocating a drug free America. Casey Mulroy is a junior at Pittsford Sutherland and says, "We really want to emphasize that our community isn't promoting drug use, that we really want to stop and have a healthier community in our school and our village."
Red Ribbon Week is a national campaign and begins on Monday, October 22. Students say they hope the event convinces others to stay away from drugs.
