Tucker Max, an author and self-described misfit, will no longer appear at the College at Brockport.
News10NBC reported in September that students were planning to protest the October 2 event that was sponsored by the Brockport Student Government.
The event was postponed after 18-year-old Alexandra Kogut was found beaten to death in her dorm room. Her boyfriend, Clayton Whittemore, is charged with murder. Now Tucker’s appearance has been cancelled.
Brockport Student Government President Sam Wheeler said, “Due to scheduling conflicts and a decision from the BSG staff, Tucker Max is no longer scheduled to appear on campus this year. BSG planned to bring Tucker Max to the College at Brockport as a guest lecturer with the intention of him discussing changing career paths and how he got to where he is currently in life. In light of recent events and BSG's desire to help our campus heal, we have decided to look for different lectures and events. Max was more than willing to work with us and understands that this is a challenging time for our community. Full refunds will be offered in the BSG Box Office with the return of the original ticket.”
