NY State Police to receive specialized training on electric vehicles

New York State Police will be the first in the country to receive specialized training on electric vehicles so they know how to safely handle crashes involving those types of vehicles.

Electric cars and hybrids are becoming more popular on the road and their high-voltage equipment poses a hazard for police, firefighters and emergency crews.
