Watch out for 'Zombies Ahead'

It's not every day you see something on a Department of Transportation sign like this one.
Yes, watch out for those “zombies ahead.” A Monroe Ambulance crew spotted it on West Ridge Road near I-390 in Greece Monday morning and called their supervisor.
Michael McCormick of Monroe Ambulance said “I could see the DOT's concern, with it being a different, non-emergency message that's [legitimate] and sending people into a dangerous situation.”
Greece Police heard about it too and called the DOT to tell them somebody hacked into their sign. It was eventually turned off.
No zombies were spotted and the Department of Transportation was not amused. It issued the following statement:
“Message signs are intended to be credible tools in providing traffic-related information to motorists. We realize it could have been much worse, but we take it seriously and ask anyone with information to call Greece Police.”
