Six Kwik Fill gas stations in western New York, including Rochester, are in trouble with the Environmental Protection Agency. They are accused of not properly maintaining underground storage tanks.

The EPA is seeking more than $42,000 in penalties against the operator of the Kwik Fill stations in Rochester, Dunkirk, Fredonia, Westfield and Jamestown.

The EPA has already reached a settlement in a similar case involving 13 gas stations in the Buffalo and Rochester areas.
